Brother Chandler was a life member who held all of the major offices of the Alpha Chi Chapter. He was committee chair of all of the Alpha Chi Chapter committees, 10^th District Delegate and received various awards and honors from the Alpha Chi Chapter.

Professional Activities/Awards, All surviving family members:

Brother Chandler attended Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Trustee Board Member.  Brother Chandler attended A & T College in Greensboro, North Carolina where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Industrial Arts and a Masters Degree in Industrial Education. Brother Chandler was a teacher for the Gary Community School Corporation from 1956 to 1994. Brother Chandler served this country honorably as a member of the United States Army and the United States Air Force Reserve. Brother Chandler is survived by his devoted son Calvin Chandler Jr. (Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity), granddaughters Barbara Ann Chandler, Courtney, and Myia, a sister Ophelia (Garrett) Webb, a brother Claudio (Carol) Chandler, a step sister Alicia Crosby, and 3 aunts Janie Wyatt, Geraldine Chandler, and Lorraine Chandler.
